The point in the article was that there was no real surplus. Every year since the 1850's the U.S. has owed more money than the year before. If there was a surplus the U.S. debt would have gone down not up.

We need a Marine in Congress who will do what's right even when it's hard instead of pushovers like Cleaver who just follow the Democratic party line - Cleaver has voted 100% with Pelosi and Obama - we need an independent thinker like Jacob Turk voting for the people and what THEY want from their government.

I'm not even going to correct you on how terrible some your rationalizations were but I am going to say, 48% of Americans don't pay Income tax they actually make money off of it and you think taxes needs to be lowered on the low income class of America?

The latest data show that a big portion of the federal income tax burden is shouldered by a small group of the very richest Americans. The wealthiest 1 percent of the population earn 19 percent of the income but pay 37 percent of the income tax. Thetop 10 percent pay 68 percent of the tab. Meanwhile, the bottom 50 percent—those below the median income level—now earn 13 percent of the income but pay just 3 percent of the taxes. These are proportions of the income tax alone and don’t include payroll taxes for Social Security and Medicare.

It's gratifying to know the Mr. Turk is once again willing to put his life on hold, take abuse from the press **cough,cough** and jump back in for 2012. The campaigns efforts came within 9 points in 2010 and THAT has had to have made an impact no matter which side of the aisle you're on. Hopefully, all other potential candidates will come to understand the incredible amount of hard work Jacob has put in to achieve the level of name recognition he now enjoys and back him in his effort to unseat Cleaver. Missouri's 5th deserves decent representation for once.

Very nice! Things from the space program: batteries, computers, digital cameras, digital clocks, and much more. I don't think many people know that everything that is developed at NASA must me made available to the public for purchase. It's sad to see it go, but the shuttles did their job.

When Challenger blew up it severely hurt the shuttle program because they originally were going to be used a lot more, but after that people started to worry.

That's a quality response, Elizabeth. The other thing I've noticed about people who complain all the time is that they shoot themself in the foot because they ruin their credibility. The mayor and I got off on the wrong foot but I respect most of what he's doing. Seems like people are taking some pride in Greenwood. He's working very hard. The BOA is working well together. Those are some great things to build upon.

You are so, so correct, Sara Ring is a true class-act! Unfortunately she had un-educated to deal with. Fortunately though Sara knew had to handle the trash they threw and beat them every turn.
All the name calling, constant phone calls, attacks like at Price Chopper, oh, and least we forget the drive-by-wonder-boy that prowls the streets could not touch her - now, with this accident they are at it again. However, once again they will fail and look as stupid as always.
