Meanwhile, the bottom 50 percent—those below the median income level—now earn 13 percent of the income but pay just 3 percent of the taxes. These are proportions of the income tax alone and don’t include payroll taxes for Social Security and Medicare.
Quote from The American Magazine. The campaigns efforts came within 9 points in 2010 and THAT has had to have made an impact no matter which side of the aisle you're on. Hopefully, all other potential candidates will come to understand the incredible amount of hard work Jacob has put in to achieve the level of name recognition he now enjoys and back him in his effort to unseat Cleaver. Missouri's 5th deserves decent representation for once.

Re: Lake Winnebago father charged with murder of 5 month old daughter

I don't think there is anyone who doesn't but people have to be made aware of what is really going on.

Re: A Farewell to the Space Shuttle

Very nice! Things from the space program: batteries, computers, digital cameras, digital clocks, and much more. I don't think many people know that everything that is developed at NASA must me made available to the public for purchase. It's sad to see it go, but the shuttles did their job.

When Challenger blew up it severely hurt the shuttle program because they originally were going to be used a lot more, but after that people started to worry.

Re: Lee’s Summit man identified as deceased body found near James A Reed Wildlife area

Please update if you hear about the charges. The other thing I've noticed about people who complain all the time is that they shoot themself in the foot because they ruin their credibility. The mayor and I got off on the wrong foot but I respect most of what he's doing. Seems like people are taking some pride in Greenwood. He's working very hard. The BOA is working well together. Those are some great things to build upon.

Re: Gravel truck involved in rear end collision with Lee’s Summit School bus

Mr. Megee - keep up the good work and disregard your detractors for they will fade away like the night gives way to a new day.
Tips

Here are some
reasons about why people whine and complain all of the time:

Usually
people who complain are unhappy. They are unsatisfied with life. They are not
getting what they need or want to be happy, so they complain.

Warnings

People who whine and complain all
of the time are very poisonous. Avoid them.

by Richard Serra

If we lived in a perfect world, I'm
sure there would be some who would find something to complain about, and since
we don't, we sure have our share of those who constantly complain about
everything. These kinds of people are in their own prison, and it's one that
they created for themselves. It must be terribly lonely to not be able to
accept life around them as it really is.

Psychologists speak of two kinds of people. Negative emotions
like hatred, despair, anger, fear, anxiety, envy, self-depreciation fill the
mind of the first category. These people are constantly restive and unhappy.
Failures and illness easily master them.

Re: Gravel truck involved in rear end collision with Lee’s Summit School bus

Hi, the driver of the truck was Brian Morris.

Re: Gravel truck involved in rear end collision with Lee’s Summit School bus

Thank you for the chuckle, mayor.

Re: Gravel truck involved in rear end collision with Lee’s Summit School bus

Reading the comments that followed this article reminded me of an often quoted exchange between Lady Nancy Astor and Sir Winston Churchill:

The Quote...
Lady Nancy Astor: "Winston, if you were
my husband, I'd poison your tea."
Winston Churchill: "Nancy, if I were your husband,
I'd drink it.”Nancy Witcher Astor, Viscountess Astor, CH, (May 19, 1879 – May 2,
1964) was the first woman to serve as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the British
House of Commons.

Re: Gravel truck involved in rear end collision with Lee’s Summit School bus

Has the honorable Mayor issued a mayoral pardon for the wayward gravel truck driver who struck the school bus?
